A PERSONAL WORD
Hi, my name is Joellen Stade. I am a child of the Most High God—redeemed and being sanctified by the grace poured out through Jesus Christ, His Son and my Savior, on my life.
The Be Still – Scripture Art series began with a whisper in the night.
In 2019, during a season of illness and prayer, I cried out to the Lord for healing. In the quiet, I heard the Holy Spirit speak: “Get up and put Scripture on your photography.” I hesitated—what photography?—but the prompting came again, gently and clearly. So, I got up, and made my way to my computer, and began scrolling through years of images: flowers, trees, quiet landscapes. Nature without people, as my loved ones have observed.
With my Bible beside me, I opened PowerPoint and began placing verses on the photographs. The Scriptures came in fragments—just a word or two—and I searched to find the full passages. What emerged was deeply personal. I printed the images, taped them to my bathroom mirror, tucked them into my car, and spoke the Word aloud as promises from God.
Over time, I felt led to give these images away—hundreds of them—whenever the Spirit prompted me. Each one was a shared gift, a moment of grace, a whisper of God’s nearness.
This series is not just art. It is testimony. It is prayer. It is the quiet invitation to be still and know that He is God.
